Devil's Lake Climbing Adventure

Join us for a Climbing Adventure at Devil’s Lake on Saturday, September 27th!

We’re heading out to explore the stunning quartzite cliffs of Devil’s Lake State Park in Wisconsin for a day of top-rope climbing, community, and unforgettable views.

We’ll start the day at Brooklyn Boulders Chicago, where we’ll meet up and transport you to Devil's Lake State Park. Once we arrive, we’ll head to the CCC parking lot on the East Bluff, get everyone geared up with harnesses, helmets, and shoes, and then hike together to the crag.

Our guides will provide a quick intro covering how to tie into the rope, belay basics, and then it’s go time. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced climber, the area has a wide range of routes—from slabby faces to steep cracks—offering something for every skill level.

We’ll wrap up climbing around 3:45 PM and make our way back to the parking lot by 4:00 PM before heading back to the city.

    • Guided climbing session

    • All climbing gear (ropes, harnesses, helmets, shoes—if needed)

    • Instruction for beginners or tips for experienced climbers

    • A full afternoon immersed in nature with fellow Outsiders

    • Beverages post-climb

    • 9:00 AM -Meet at Brooklyn Boulders

    • 9:30 AM - Depart

    • 12:00 PM – Arriveat CCC parking lot, Devil’s Lake East Bluff

    • 12:15 PM – Gear up + hike to climbing area

    • 12:45 PM – 3:45 PM – Climbing session

    • 4:00 PM – Return to parking lot and depart back to Chicago

    • Comfortable athletic clothes you can climb in

    • Water + snacks and lunch

    • Sunscreen + bug spray

    • Hiking shoes or sturdy sneakers for the trail approach
